A Little About Me

I am a Dallas-based communications professional (that’s me in the photo holding the snickering 1-year-old) who specializes in sports writing and promotion. I have been a magazine and online editor for national newsstand magazines such as Beckett Football, Beckett Basketball, Beckett Sports Card Monthly and Success from Home.

I was in charge of planning, coordinating and editing all content and covers for my magazines, writing feature stories and departments, working with designers to create cover concepts and feature layouts, copyediting, hiring and supervising freelance writers, collaborating with advertisers to develop special projects, advertorials, sponsorships and digital magazines, and building relationships with officials and various media in the sports collectibles industry. My marketing experience includes creating magazines, brochures, journals and writing copy for iPad/iPhone applications for some of the top companies in the direct sales industry, including Ambit Energy, ranked No. 1 on the 2010 Inc. 500 list.

I have interviewed and written about more than 200 professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB and UFC. Currently, I write a personal development column gear toward teenagers for SUCCESS Magazine and regularly contribute to BurntOrangeNation.com – one of the top college football blogs on the Internet.

I’m available for several communications needs, including writing, editing, web content, Internet marketing, SEO consulting and public relations services.

When I’m not hanging out with my wife and three little kids, I live and die with my precious Texas Longhorns, work out, dabble in photography, and collect football cards and autographs.
