Beckett Football’s Best of 2005 Awards issue presents awards to the best football card products, sets and single cards in more than 70 categories. This issue released a couple weeks after the Steelers’ Super Bowl XL win, hence Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward on the cover with ghosted images of Ben Roethlisberger and Jerome Bettis. This further advances the “Best of 2005” theme of the issue. The top categories in the awards feature create a border for the cover, which hint at the large spectrum of coverage in the magazine.
